Community

Matt Coyne Speaking

I've been an active member of the Issaquah/Sammamish community for over 18 years. One thing that's always been close to my heart is supporting public education and social services in our area.

With several educators in my family, I have a deep appreciation for the vital role our local public schools play in shaping the lives of our children. I had the privilege of serving on the Issaquah Schools Foundation Board for six years, including two years as Board President. During my time on the board, I focused on areas like corporate donor stewardship, board member development, and reaching out to diverse communities across the Issaquah School District. I was honored to receive an invitation to also sit on the National Schools Foundation Board where I was able to use the skills learned from the Issaquah Schools Foundation to support schools across the United States.

While my commitment to education remains unwavering, I've also broadened my volunteer efforts to support other essential causes in our community. For two years, I served on the board of the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank, where I used my past board experience to strengthen donor outreach efforts. Additionally, I'm proud to be a member of the Board of the Issaquah Teen Center, known as The Garage. In this role, I focus on fundraising and connecting with donors who share our vision of empowering our local teens.

Beyond my involvement with non-profit organizations, I've been actively engaged as a parent volunteer for many years, supporting my children's education at the Children's Garden Preschool and Discovery Elementary. I've also dedicated eight years to various volunteer roles within the Issaquah Highlands Community Association. Currently, I have the honor of serving as the Board President for my neighborhood Homeowners Association in Sammamish.
